Buddy’s Bangers, Vol. 1 for Best Children’s Album at the Grammy® Awards!

A Mega Ran returns with life lessons turned into bangers!

As his amazing child turns 6, GRAMMY-Nominee Mega Ran enters the next phase of his impressive career as a mentor and musician with Buddy’s Bangers! 8 tracks inspired by the journey, conversations and challenges of his young son “Buddy’s” journey into Pre-Kindergarten, it’s all of his favorite things in song form.

In 2022, Mega Ran’s world was flipped upside down when the former teacher turned rapper and video game music composer decided with his wife to enter into the unpredictable world of foster parenting. This crash course into parenting completely changed Mega Ran’s approach to making music, leading him to work on the album “Buddy’s Magic Toy Box,” which cemented Mega Ran as a family musician with a message.

After the album’s release, Mega Ran’s transformation into a children’s music artist seemed destined. It was seamless. Ran began playing shows at museums, parks and libraries; with the latter inspiring his latest hit “The Library Jawn,” which has fast become an anthem for reading advocates worldwide.

The remaining tracks found a home on 2024’s “Buddy’s Magic Remixes.” Ran also toured the world playing over 100 tour stops with legendary bands like Wheatus and The Cybertronic Spree, to all-ages and 21+ venues; yet he STILL played his children’s hits, despite having a mile-long catalog of rap songs about comics, games and pro-wrestling.

“If I can teach 12 year olds, then adults are easy,” Ran would say on stage, half joking.

He wasn’t wrong.

“Buddy’s Bangers” consists of spectacularly produced records on friendship, fears, growth, goodbyes and even construction vehicles.

Where do you go after a GRAMMY Nomination, headlining performances at Lollapalooza, Wolf Trap, featured performances on award-winning projects and a world tour of Africa?

Home, obviously.

The “TeacherRapperHero” wrapped up his busiest season of tours to come home and be a family man, spending every day with his toddler son, affectionately nicknamed “Buddy.” Buddy’s current obsessions directly inspired a new collection of songs Ran called “Buddy’s Bangers, Vol. 1.” The songs range from exciting to emotional, and feature all of the production value and heart that led to 2025’s GRAMMY-Nomination. Buddy is BACK!
