Emerald Knights: The ALBUM!

The Story:

During 2015’s “Emerald Knights Tour,” Mega Ran and Felix, The Bag of Tricks Cat ventured from Phoenix, AZ to the UK to perform for crowds in London, Birmingham, and even Dublin.

In downtime, between rocking stages and devouring English Breakfasts, the Cat and the Teacher/Rapper/Hero managed to record an 8-Track EP, dubbed “Emerald Knights: The Album.”

Largely produced by Toronto phenom Fresh Kils, the EP explores personal growth, facing fears, and of course, the Beatles.

The free EP serves a perfect appetizer for Mega Ran’s full-length album “RNDM,” which releases one month later. Features include RandomBeats artist SkyBlew who appears on the 8-Bit jam “Dragon Spirit,” and UK Chap-Hop legend Professor Elemental, who delivers a verse and holds down hosting duties on the album.

“Emerald Knights: The Album” releases in August and will be a free download at and

Your Favorite Song (Video)

Teacher/Rapper/Hero Mega Ran, with an assist from his classic Famicom system, dreams of being a star with new track “Your Favorite Song.”

Mega Ran’s new album RNDM is shaping up to be his most daring yet. On this new in-studio video, directed by Jaron Ikner, Ran digs into his bag of tricks for the track “Your Favorite Song,” a tongue in cheek, playful rap about the desire to be the best one-hit-wonder ever.

Ran’s modded Famicom system is the star of this video, as it’s bleeps, bloops and even built-in mic get some stage time. 30 years old and still making memories.

Ran name-checks Carly Rae Jepsen, “Happy,” and expresses his need to make a track that would “make Weird Al want to parody.” The whimsical track by Tunesmith of Austria, and infectious hook makes “Favorite Song” a track you’ll want to spin over and over again.

Game developer Comcept just announced that Mega’s new track “Mighty” will appear in the highly anticipated game “Mighty No 9″ as the ending credits theme, and the only way to get the song is on Ran’s new album. On top of that, the first 999 preorders will get the Mighty No.9 soundtrack for free with purchase.
