You’ll Never Teach In This Town Again
….that’s what I was told by a friend when they heard this new track, “Faculty Lounge” featuring Homeboy Sandman. Bah.
I don’t think music is as fun when you’re not being honest, so everything in this song is super real, and happened within my 5+ years of teaching middle school. Never a dull moment. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it… but I’m loving it more from a distance, ha.
The Story:
Philly bred ex-teacher Random aka Mega Ran enlisted another educator turned rhyme-slinger, recent Stones Throw Records signee Homeboy Sandman, in this example of what goes down on a typical afternoon in the faculty lounge. Mega Ran and Boy Sand set it on the American educational system’s flaws over an ill funk chop by DN3, with precise cuts and scratches by Phoenix’s DJ LES 735. Trust, the real faculty lounge conversations are even worse.
